I recently purchased a 93 190E 2.6 Sportline. My question is about serial number location on the motor and tranny. Also how it correlates with the VIN number. I would like to verify that the motor and tranny are original.

The engine number is on the right side of engine. In front of the rt motor mount arm & behind the alternator. Best seen with car on lift. Trans number is stamped into right side of case above the trans pan. In the books that come w/car there is a data card that have these numbers. Also any MB dealer can do a master inquiry & find these numbers also.
