EVAP Emission Control System Pres Sensor Fault
Hi Guys,
I have the following code in my computer: Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0450 DTC Definition: EVAP Emission Control System Pres Sensor Fault I took it to my local indy mercedes shop and they said it was the right fuel level sensor. Does this sensor also sense how much pressure is in the gas tank? I thought it only senesed how much gas is in the tank for the fuel gauge. Please let me know what you think. Oh, by the way, the shop said that the pressure in my tank was at 58mbr and that is bad or something (or maybe it was -58mbr). Thanks!

Is it ok to drive with the fuel pressure sensor (right fuel level sensor) not working as I described in my last post? My local mercedes dealer cannot service the vehicle until 11/29 due to a recall with the E and SL classes.

Inspect all your evap hoses for splits, cracks or holes. You will probably have to take each one off and examine it carefully and squeeze, with your fingers, the rubber inch by inch to find it.
The DTC is telling you it's a pressure fault, check the pressure sensor as well. There may also be a small electrical valve in the vent system. That may need to be replaced. I had a problem with my V70. Oe of the hoses was split so the tank wouldn't pressurize. Instant MIL on.
