Transmission problem

Had the 260E stay at the dealer for about 3 weeks. They had all the seals replaced on the trans as they were leaking, they also took the transmission out of the car to change the clutch etc, and then put it all back with new transmission oil and the whole nine yards. basically it was a maintenance task as i really didnt have any issues with the trans other than the clunks i would hear when shifting from reverse to drive at times.
Now with the car back I do feel the shifts to be a bit smoother but at the same time I have heard some strange noises and seen some behavior that does not seem normal.
For beginners, when the engine reaches 4000 or above rpm in lower gears, there seems to be a lag, kind of like a turbo lag that just kicks in, the car from there on seems to be picking up speed, but at the same time I hear the revs getting much higher than usual, and then when the gear shifts to the next gear, usually from 2nd to 3rd, there's a shudder/vibration that comes from the rear end , close to the differential.
this happens only when the shifting occurs at rpm of 4000 or higher when i'm really pressing hard on the accelerator. during normal mode of driving, everything seems to be ok.
my question is, are these symptoms of trasmision slipping ?
how can I explain the sort of turbo kick in/lag at 4000 plus rpm's ?
I'm def. going to take the car back to the dealer, but want to be educated on this so that it's easier for me to explain this to the service tech.
thnx in advance.
