Stupid question...wiper blade
Dear All,
I have bought one pair of wiper blade and I dont know how to take the rubber out. I know how to get the wiper out from the arm. but I get one end of the rubber out, there is a metal on each side. However, the other end were still stucked with the wiper. Do I need any tools to get the rubber out? or I can just pull hardly? Thanks |

Simply grab an end of the metal spine with a pair of pliers and pull them out, then remove and fit new wiper blade, then slide each spine back into wiper, you will need to push hard for the last 1/8 of an inch as it locks back into the rubber blade.

Since I find myself performing that very task out in the parking lot of some auto parts store where the wiper inserts were purchased, I find that fingers do an okay job.
Each wiper blade has four contact points where it holds the insert. The insert is flexible enough to hold one end and bend slightly to coax out of one end, then do the same for the other. Then you'll have to squeeze the trailing end when it reaches each of the places where it meets the holder. It just takes patience... Only reason I do this as opposed to replacing the whole unit, is because the OEM blades have the model of the car embossed on the blade! I'm a purist I guess...
