Idle Control Valve
Come on guys this is an easy one for the experts. Should the idle control valve on a 126 close completely during operation? I know that during operation it gets a modulating voltage to keep it from sticking but when it does get the high voltage should it close completely? I'm trying to troubleshoot a high idle. On the bench with 12v the valve on the ICV moves up about 50% to restrict air intake but does not close entirely. Is this how it is supposed to work?

ON the M116/117 engine the valve SHOULD close completely with battery voltage applied.
