Tool Queston

I"ll be replacing the rear suspension arms on my 86 300E soon and the new replacement bolts appear to use a multi-splined tool in the bolt head. Does anyone know what type and size tool is used? Is this the "triple-square" bit I've seen mentioned in other posts? Where's a good place to find these bits?

Thanks

If it is the triple square, this bit should be available at any of the popular auto supply houses.

Triple square are 12 point (4 corners on a square, times 3=12).
Torx are 6 point and a different profile, more of a curving profile and rounded corners, as opposed to 12 point triple square, which although they don't look like it are 90 degree corners each.

Lisle Tools makes a good set of triple square and TORX. You can check out their specialty tool catalog at:

http://www.lislecorp.com

Pep Boys carries a fairly good assortment of Lisle's specialty line.

I've found a couple of sets that are like the Lisle triple-square bit set , but I'd like to find a 12-point set in a 1/2" socket similar to these hex bits. . Anyone know who makes one like this?

S-K makes the triple square in 1/2 inch drive for the larger sizes. Take a look here: http://search.cartserver.com/search/search.cgi?cartid=a-6834&category=database&maxhits=30&keywords=sk+triple+square&go=GO%21
