Pitman Arm Removal (450SE)

To get to the steering box seals, I need to take off the Pitman arm from the box.
Can I simply pull that end w/ a Pitman Arm puller, or do I have to
take off the tie rod end?
I am not changing the Pitman Arm, only want to free it from the
steering box. Is there enough play in the suspension to get it off
only at the box end?
