E420 Power Loss

My 1997 E420 seems to be only running on 4 cylenders. I has lost a lot of power does not like to rev.

I am not sure what happened, but here are the symptoms.

The car refused to accellerate when going up a hill at about 50mph. I floored the accellerator and the check engine light came on. If I try to accelerate (somewhat hard) the check engine light starts flashing.

I took it to a Mechanic in Atlanta who read the codes.

He seems to think its the O2 sensors. My regular guy (in dallas) thinks its the Air Mass Meter.

Before I start throwing parts at it, I would be grateful if anyone can provide input.

This car should fly when you put your foot down.

Regards

Al
