’01 S-class intermittent wipers inoperative.
Wipers work fine on both low and high speed but all I get is one wipe when I put it in the intermittent setting. Is there a fuse for this setting or would there be a problem with the rain sensor? Pouring water over the sensor does nothing.

Has the windshield been replaced recently??
Are there any "bubbles" in the windshield where the rain sensor is located? The rain sensor talks to the overhead control unit(computer). that computer will talk to MB scan tool for diagnosis.

My suspicion is this:
The "auto" position is the intermittent position. Yes, you get one swipe when you turn it to intermittent if it isn't raining, or if you always leave it in intermittent you will get one swipe when starting the car/turning on the ignition. For the sensor to work, the switch has to be in intermittent, so when you are pouring water over the sensor, is the switch in the intermittent position??? Gilly
