1st Time Power Brake Bleed User

I recently purchased a Motive Products power brake bleeder to assist me in maintaining my fleet. One question that I had which the directions don't seem to address - how does one avoid forcing air into the system when you first start? They even talk about ensuring that a good seal has been achieved on the MC resevoir by pumping up the bleeder to 20#s or so. Wouldn't this force some air into the system? I'm especially concerned as my first use of this device will be on a car whose entire brake system I've just replaced so other than the MC which will have been bench bleed, the whole thing will be empty.

Thanks,

jlc

With an empty system you will have air in the line until you have run fluid through it and there are no air bubbles in the fluid you bleed out. You can't let the m/c run dry or then you will be putting air in after the fluid and will have start over again. The Motiv bleeder is great in my experience.

Fill the m/c reservoir full before connecting and then when you pressurize the bleeder and fluid begins making its way into the reservoir, the air rises to the top.

Have a great day,
