Question Blower upgrade for W124?

I've had my 95 E300 for 5 years and have always been surprised how weak the blower is. It works and has 4 or 5 speed settings but compared to other cars its really feeble. I have replaced the dust filter and recently had the dash out and checked everything was clean in the heater box.

Is feeble performance normal ? if not is there an upgrade/ or other fix available.

I have read posts on W210 on this subject but dont know if it applies to W124s.

Any experience/advice?
