I had to have new wiring with the same sort of symptoms

Mine (95 S420) was under starmark at the time-- so they just did it. I don't really know which wires, but they reported to me that they had not ordered the correct mirror wiring bundle, so they had a tech splice in the defective insulation ones. That has been two years ago and everything has continued correctly since that time.

All these posts about wire insulation coming apart when ever harness are moved about.

MB, that's really a major screw up and it lasted for years. Wiring should last 50 years !! ---- who cares after it is 7feet down in a landfill or is melted when they crush and re-cycle the metal of our old Mercedes.

Anyway, have the techs check for wireing insulation problems. If you frequently do the "fold in" for car washes or parking, consider stopping that, it puts movement on the wires. I never use that function anyway.

Good Luck tracking it down.
