Missing Cable after service

Hi

My Dad has just taken his car back from being serviced and it seems a cable/mic has gone missing or been cut off.

Trouble is, I'm not sure what it was.

Car is RHD 2004 S320 CDI, and cable sticks out of the front pillar on the passenger side. It looks like a microphone, so I was thinking maybe the handsfree kit or linguatronic - but they seem to be working ok. Is it part of the alarm maybe?

I just don't understand why it's been removed. They didn't mention it, and it's not mentioned on the invoice.

Thanks in advance

sounds like hands-free

1. It does sound like a hands-free kit, and on the passenger side.

2. Take a look at this link http://www.benzworld.org/publications/pub.asp?id=85

Good luck

That's what I thought at first, but the phone works fine. Maybe they have just hidden the mic?

Also though the mic is on the wrong side for the handsfree (it's on the passenger side) - unless that's where they put them now.

I'm starting to think it was just a badly placed cable that shouldn't have been there in the first place.
