124.032 DM code definitions

Figured I'd throw this out here as well, the sheer amount of traffic can quite often be a bonus...

Sorry to have to bother with such a simple question, but can anyone act as an independent third party source here? I have a 1995 (4/95) 124.032 with 3 DM codes. My sources of info list code definitions as being quite different, and I'd really like to know which sources is correct before I try to diagnose any further. To avoid any bias in which source I go with, I won't mention them here, though I will say that all have been know to be wrong on more than one occasion. Also, to avoid bias, or assumptions based on past expieriences, I won't mention the descriptions I have, only what codes I get. Here goes:

Code 8

Code 10

Code 26

These are all DM codes, all registered, none currently "active". No other related control modules have any codes at all. Thanks in advance.

MV

Thanks, that's pretty much what I needed! If anyone else would like to chime in feel free. The more agreeing info I can find, the better I'd feel.

Not to sound ungratefull, but yeah, reassurance is nice. Since several shop manuals are/were in disagreement about the definitions, I was looking for a clear majority type thing. How am I to know that your source is not the same wrong source I have?

Several other signs have since pointed in the same direction, and it would seem that your source is indeed correct, thank you. Now to discuss with my manufacturers rep why their wonderful new and expensive software is so far off base...

Oh , I see.. I thought you were looking for an unbiased, third party source
to assure you of the correct codes .

Had I known you were just looking for many ,many differing sources in order to come up with a majority concensus , I would have not replied.
I do not deal with that type of diagnostic approach..
I just post the required tech info with my soruce being experience , specially on your patricular request....

I am sure will will get some more replies and hope the included info of the code tool constuction comes in handy for you..

Look I'm sorry if I had offended you. I think we're miscommunicating.

I have numerous professional tools at my disposal to retrieve codes, and numerous shop manuals and software to define them. HOWEVER, yesterday this particular vehicle seemed to "fall through the cracks" as some shop manuals were describing code 8 as an O2 sensor code, while others were listing it as an ECT code. Since it was obvious at least one of my information sources was wrong, I was hoping to get a consensous as to which definitions were correct.

Your input on this was helpful, as was input from others via other sources. My concern was that if someone else had a flawed source of info, like I did, and if they responded, particularly if they were the only response, I may have ended up trusting the wrong source of information, and spent all day looking for O2 sensor problems, when in fact the ECT was the source of the problem. That's why I was hoping for additional respones to add to the "pot".

Again, sorry if I had offended you, I do appreciate your response. Hopefully with my additional explanation, you can see where I was going, and why I was asking for clarification.

I hear ya ..
No Problem.
The communication was b/c you asked for a 3rd party info source .. I went through the trouble and personally thought I filled that request to the 'T" [and then some] and did not expect your doubtful reply to include a need for 4th or 5th party after I had supplied the correct info. After re-reading your first post, I can now see that should have been expected , so my oversight.
If you think you got some conflicting source info on the code designations, wait til you see how many one can get when they want the remedy opinions using the codes/combo of codes as a diagnosis basis..
That is where the Experience wins, hands down.
Good Luck to ya and glad you solved your problem.
