Bouncy rear seat solution?

My 300se has a really bouncy rear seat. I would like it to be firm like the later 124 cars with the foam filled seats.

I am trying to come up with a way to 'stuff' the seat so that it is nice and firm- thinking pool needles in the springs (might not work) or something along those lines.

Anyone have a solution? Ideas welcome.

I never sit back there myself, but it seems like an easy project, and I have the entire week off to waste my time with this type of project.

Thanks.

Pool noodles in the mattress springs w/o removing the seat cover really helps. Gotta jam 'em in there. If you remove the cover you can put a section of noodle in the coil springs also.

I just recovered my rear seat with new upholstery and did this and it feels firm like the newer cars.

I too am a fan of the pool noodle. Just fit them in creative ways and use long zip ties to hold them in place.

Thanks guys.

Picked up some pool noodles (7) and went to work.

I stuffed some on the outer perimter of the seat first, then cut the rest to length and put them across the seat.

Its definitley firm now. Maybe a little too firm, but is WAY better than it was before.

I think I may pick up some foam tomorrow and play with the arrangement and number of noodles.
