Help with 126 Fuel pump relay-Car dies
![]() I just bought a 88 420 SEL The car runs great for about 10 minutes, then it just dies. after reading alot of posts about fuel pump relays I took a look at mine. Everything in the relay is gone. Connections 15 and 87 are soldered together. I am in the process of buying a new relay, but is jumping terminals 15 and 87 the same as jumping 87 and 30? I read in another post how you can jump 87 and 30 to test the fuel pumps. also is the elect fan controled by this curcuit. The fuse was pulled and when I replace it the fan runs all the time. Sorry for the long post Thanks Ken |

hi Ken i think that you have got yourself a burned out fuel pumb and fuel pump relay. When fuel pumps start seizing up ,they draw more currant.to a point where the relay says that is it.now from whom you bought it,they just fixed the relay so it does not blow .And yes 30 is positive and 15 is ignition power, and no the fan should not be conected to this circuit
