split C.V. boots

I have yet to see or hear of split boots manufartured on Planet Earth that
will perform satisfying anywhere near O.E.M.style time-in-use periods.

But, if you can find some try them and let us know the results!

I've got to agree with our friend from Chatom Georgia. There are no split boots available.

Just replaced CV boots on a Toyota 4X4 and used split boots from Autozone. Take your old boot, if available, or measure the circumference of each end and see if they can match up a boot for you. The metal strap that comes with them is kind of hard to get tightened properly, so I used a large zip tie and trimmed off the excess. Be sure to pack the joint as best you can with CV joint grease before putting the boot on.

split CV boots -workmanship the key

IF PROPERLY installed, the split CV joint boots will provide excellent service. It is ESSENTIAL that the joint to be glued closed is COMPLETELY clean of all dirt, traces of oil, grease, etc. Spray clean with trichlor or other chlorinated solvent
