Doug, I recently fixed the motor to my front passenger window on my 82 SD. I disassembled the motor by unscrewing the motor from the window lift mechanism, after I took it out with the mechanism. I was expecting I would have to get another motor. However, when I took the motor apart, I found that the lower bushing that guides the rotor was really rusty. There's a spring metal clip that holds it into the bottom of the motor casing. Prying carefully with a screwdriver freed it. I cleaned out the area, relubed the bushing with lightweight oil and reassembled. The window moves faster and stronger than it did when I bought the car 9 years ago. Good luck!
