just bought no manuel; how do i retract roof slk 230 2000

just bought today and have no idea what all those buttons mean. first priority is to get roof down. I push the red button, it flashes but nothing is happening. there is a smell like something is getting hot. DO i need to have trunk open? Sorry but no clue-new mb owner
