?? Gas tank/slosh sealers ??
Wondering if any of you have had experience with the Caswell Epoxy (PHENOL NOVOLAC); Bill Hirsch Gas Tank Sealer (similar to Randolf 912); or the aviation slosh sealer like the 3M 776 and PRC SLOSHING SEALER PR-1005-L (Buna-N) ?
I've read too many bad reviews on the POR-15 marketed US Standard Tank sealer, and that Kreme also "flakes off" esp. if there is any alcohol in your local gasoline. TIA, :-) neil |

New tanks are $800+, splitting and repainting is about $400, and even a used tank, no one is willing to claim their tank has no corrosion, so I might as well do mine for $40-50 worth of materials, and my time. :-( neil |

i have never
had any rust in any benz tank in over 30 years of driving them on and off. and owning 29 of them.
i am wondering if you might have gotten it in thru the nozzle from the station. i would be tempted to try to clean it out and just skip the coating at least for a while and see how it goes. tom w
