The following questions I want to ask and really thanks in advanced to all of you : ))..
At the same order for each picture: 1. How this switch suppose to function? In my on both cases up or down the AC compressor works. Only in the middle it doesn't work. Is that how it suppose to work? 2. What is the purpose of the similar switches? And how the down buttons work? 3. What is the purpose of it? It works but it's in german that I don't understand. 4. When I turn the car key switch before I start the engine it goes to number 3 directly. I owned Mercedes W126 cars before and I know that it should remain on 0 until I switch on the engine then it indecates the oil pressure. It's electrical problem. How can I solve it? 5. The 'E' and 'S' switch, how it function? I know that I'm asking too much but I hope that this information to be helpful to everyone : ))..

I can't tell you anything about your gauges or switches...doesn't look anything like any I've seem. Perhaps a Euro version 560?
The oil pressure pegging before the engine starting is possible a bad pressure sending unit. Could also be a worn wire grounding out.

that indeed is a euro 560 with those electronic functions. In the US, those were definetly not offered as options. How is the power on your 560? If it is a euro ver.then it should have the more powerful 300hp engine and no cats, well unless the car was outfitted with cats and such

i can answer the last question
my 500sec has the feature on the bottom of the shift gate. if you push it to the right it will hold it in lower gear when you back off the gas instead of automatically shifting to a higher gear. this will help if in an autocross and want to use engine braking on tight corners.
tom w also i will guess at the first switch., perhaps the upper part is for defrost to give heat and ac together for dehumidification. the bottom looks like a universal ac symbol. and center position is economy...no ac compressor on duty. tom w

Pictures 2 and 3 are for the trip computer. If you do a search here I believe that someone posted the manual for how to operate the computer.
The E/S switch changes the shift pattern of the transmission. It stands for Economy/Standard. Standard is normal shifting and Economy provides slightly earlier shift points. Matt. |

In your first pic you are correct - that is for A/C.
Up is compressor on continually (good for when the car is very hot inside or it's very humid and you want to dry the air fast) down is normal function - compressor cycles to maintain dialed temperature. In the middle is off. Second pic, the switches are too blurry to see whats on them. The unit in the lower of the pic is your pre heater - designed for very cold climates and uses an electric heater to warm up the car before you get in - you can set a timer on it. Not to be used at petrol stations (according to the manual). Third is trip computer - very rare option. Last the 'E' & 'S' function. E is supposed to be economy - second gear start, S allows first gear start. On other threads most leave it in S for better driving. I do it just drives better. Cheers
