1989 300e Benz
 PLEASE HELP ME. I OWN A 1989 300E, CAR DROVE SMOOTH AS EVER. OVER 300MILES AND STILL RUNNING GOOD . SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK MY BABY STOP OUT THE CLEAR BLUE. COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY, WHILE PRESSING MY FOOT ON THE GAS IT SMELLED LIKE BURN RUBBER. WHEN I TRIED REVERSING THE CAR ITS FINE. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT I NEED A TRANNY. DOES IT SOUND LIKE I NEED A TRANNY? PLEASE SOMEBODY OUT THERE HELP ME.

What is a "CLEAR BLUE" and what is a "TRANNY"?

"Clear blue" is same as "nowhere" and "tranny" is transmission, and he needs one. A rebuild at the very least.

Do you mean ur sweet baby put the transmission on the "N" (null) while driving?

thank you all for the info. Does anyone have a tranny that i can buy ? I love this car. B2 Piston? What do you think i should do first? Engine or Tranny?

Me too!
 I was OK until someone asked what is the "clear blue" and "tranny". Cracked up even more when someone explained. Read on and even more cracked up. I was literally in tears  . I guess it has been a long day!  Sorry. Seriously, we need more details. When you press the accelerator in "D", does the car even move? Does it lurch? Where does the burning smells come from?  However, it does sound like the tranny is on the fritz.  Also, what makes you think the engine needs replaced? Is there problems there too?  Quote:
