1987 260E Transmission problems

I bought a 260E yesterday and drove it 3 hours home. Drove great. Today, it shifts from 2-3 at high rpm. It won't shift to D. I checked transmission fluid and it was low.

Do these 260E's have a history? The last MB I had was a 240D with a 4-speed manual transmission.

I plan to have the transmission fluid flushed. Anything else I should be looking for?
