Question Please help identify these MB grilles

Gentlemen (and ladies?),

I found these in my granddad's barn -- would you please identify what model of MB these grilles came from - or will possibly fit?

Thanks! -Mike

The one on the left looks a lot like the grille on my Mom's W108.

Thats a tough one. But I think the first one is for the W114/115 from 1968 to 1976. But the other one is older, W110/111/112 from 1959 to 1967 maybe, or maybe older

Neither belong to a 108. I'm thinking the left a 114 or 115, the right a Pontoon.

I'm with Mike Tangas, the one on the right is too narrow for a W111.

Turn them over and see if there are part numbers on the back sides.

Can't find part numbers

Well I looked for part numbers and there is a fair amount of surface rust on the back of these so either there are/were no part numbers or ma nature has obliterated them.

PS what's a "Pontoon"

Going to have to change and agree with the Ponton, based on the spacing of the billets
Here is a 60's 180D

Thanks for the pic, TX76513. After seeing the picture I'd have to agree. Is it Ponton or Pontoon (one or two "o"s)?

Seems like most folks are leaning toward the W114/115 for the other grille. I've got 2 votes for a 108 though...

The one on the left measures 26.5"W x 15.5"H. The star base for the grille on the right is held on with a clip.

Thumbs up I think I've got it...

Thanks for the responses. It looks like between this forum and benzworld we've got winners. The top one is a late 60's-mid 70's W114/115 and the bottom is a late 50's-mid 60's Ponton W120/121.

Exactly the info I was looking for!

-Mike

Unless they change the grill for 75-76 300Ds, or mine isnt stock, the one on the left isnt of that vintage. The grates on mine are angled slightly, and are cast aluminum. The ones on that look to be steel, but i cant tell for sure
