I have a 1984 500sel with 60,000 miles. It has a couple of lifters which have started to make noise. I always use synthetic oil (Redline) and change it every 6,000 miles. The car sat without being run for about a year. Can just the faulty lifters (as opposed to all of them) be replaced without consequence? I believe them to both be exhaust and it seems to be cylinders 4 and 8.
Thank you,
Richard C Busch II
