Perhaps the parking brake needs adjusting, I'll try and find out how to check it, and try that next.
Kind regards, Paul.

I know with the older cars when the rear e-brake shoes (inside the disks) become worn to where they need adjustment the brake light is supposed to stay on.
However if lifting the pedal doesn't make the light shut off...then its most likely going to have something to do with your fancy electronics.

A lot of us are used to the older cars on diesel discussion.
Let us know if you find out!
