Help! Injector head 1983 380SEC

Hi All,

Well, I have finally put the engine together, I had to get a new fuel pump as the old one did not want to move at all. Yet the enigne id not want to start. Long story short - it turns out that my injector head (fuel distributor) is screwed up (the control valve stuck). I opened it up and most of the internal O-rings are in small pieces all over the place
Anyway, is there such a thing as a rebuild kit for these bosch injector heads - with all the required o-rings and other gaskets?
Please help....

Greg

No there isn't -- you'll probably need to replace the unit.

you could go out and find a shop that specializes in seals/ o-rings.

seeing the cost of the distro.

Repairing a fuel distributor is a job best left to experts -- even then you can't get the parts...

Ron,

Thank you for your remarks. Looking at the fuel distributor, it is much-much simpler than an engine or an automatic transmission. If you had a gasket set there was no difficulty to replace the individual seals. Pressure testing would have to be done anyway and I do not consider that an expert job. I have a long history of repairing cars (I have rebuilt 5-6 engines) - I am not a mechanic but I am an engineer. Seeing other people's opinion helps a lot.

I am still looking for answers though.

Thanks again,

Greg

All I know is there are several professional rebuilders out there who can't seem to get it right. Good luck.
