Actually from what I have heard she would have prolly lived if she was wearing a seatbelt. All things considered the car looked pretty good (structually wise) after the accident.

Lady Di's car was a borrowed S280 sedan, and the RF seat passenger, who was the only one wearing a seat belt, who survived the wreck, and he was badly injured...it was a terrible crash. Wearing a seatbelt really gives you a chance
