I have a 1991 300CE 24v And have just cleared a fault on the ASD sytem. As the system has been inop for some time I syphoned out all the hydraulic fluid from the tank and replaced it. I also tried to flush the fluid through the system by opening the bleed nipple on top of the diff however it only dripped out very slowly. Do you need the engine running to purge the system or is there some way to make the pump run to push the fluid out. As there is an accumulator on the pump with approx 250ml of fluid in it I want to purge this out as well . Any advise please?? This system, like many others is not covered in the Haynes Manual
Many Thanks Larry
