Are the windows dropping down when you try to lower the top or not?

See if the "express down" feature works on the windows. The first thing that must happen is the windows must fully lower. If the windows aren't synchronized they won't lower and that stops everything.

Try resynchronizing both windows. Confused on why you say the roll bar came up by itself.

Get in the car and close the door, then raise the window, not byusing express but just the point before express, when the window is all the way up cointinue to hold the switch about another 5 seconds, window express up will then be synchronized.

What can sometimes help is to disconnect all 3 connectors on the RST computer and reconnect. The computer is in the small storage box behind the passengers seat on the floor, open that up and the computer is under the "floor" of that compartment, you feel up to trying it?
The windows should lower if they are up, this is the first thing the computer has to do, so until you get the windows to lower using the top switch, the top will not even try to work. You are correct, there is only an express down feature, I must have described it wrong. If the windows now both do the express-down, the RST should be able to lower the windows now. Sometimes the RST computer can somehow "lock up". Disconnecting the 3 connectors can help. For some reason disconnecting the battery doesn't have the same effect as pulling the 3 connectors.

Had one of these cars in here about 4 years ago...regular customer. Rollbar deployed whilst driving through town.

Was told by MB tech' at MB of OKC that the red 'top' button needs held on for 4 to 5 seconds with ignition on. ( KOEO.) to sync' the system.

No go...sent computer to be checked...no fault found..... all position switches where okay .

Sent vehicle to dealer due to now 'off lease'.
Owner said he returned car to lease desk and they sent it straight to the shop.

I called next day to ask what they found...they said after plugging in 'star tester' the top operated as per factory.

Maybe...you could have Mb do same for you.

They might have accomplished the same thing by omitting having the computer checked out, in other words just disconnect and reconnect the RST module.

OK. Oh wou'll need to actually remove the module from the actual floor of the car to get all the connections removed.
