Post-Oil & Filter Change Problem
I recently changed the oil and filter on my '92 300E and it was driving fine for two days until this morning. When I came to a stop, with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I felt the car sort of stutter-step or lunge foward but in short sequences, almost like it wanted to take off. To add to this, the oil pressure guage was fluctuating from 1-3 very rapidly, again, in short sequences. Any have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

check ovp relay and the pins in the socket.sounds like you are losing idle speed control.

I don't know when they started putting the M104 into the W124, but if your car has the M104 engine, there is a vaccum line very near the oil filter that has probably been disconnected when the filter was removed. It happened to me about 4 years ago when the dealer did an oil and filter change for me.

it was model year 93 when the m104 went into the 124 body.
