126 Blower Motor Replacement
Well, I finally got the a new blower motor for my 560SEL. Going to put it in tonight or tomorrow. Seems simple enough- remove glove box insides, side pillar carpeted cover, lower dash cover, blower cover, remove old blower, install new one, and test operation. My question is what else could be the problem if this doesn't fix my blowing. (Its starting to get chilly here in NC

The 30 amp strip fuse is in a small case about 1" by 1.5" by 1" inboard of and lower than the fuse box. Difficult to see in a light colored car, impossible in a dark colored car.
No need to touch the glove box to replace the blower motor. Be very careful with the porcupine. They're expensive. If you test power to the blower motor, be aware that one wire has constsnt +12V and the other wire is regulated between +12V (blower off) to 0V (blower full). IIRC the min blower setting is a signal of about 7V. Try the Buy Parts link at the top of this page. Sixto 93 300SD |

The other problem is that the climate control could be busted. Check the fuse first though. If you do rebuild/buy a rebuilt climate control unit then make sure the auxillary waterpump is ok or you will burn the new one. I would just unplug the auxillary waterpump to be safe. It is not needed. If it is the water pump you will most likely be able to see the damage if you pull the control and pop the cover. You could even jump the circuit to test that. Good luck

I have a similar problem with my 350sd. For about a two or three weeks the blower has been making a wierd noise (like the fan was wobbling back & forth) and all the sudden stopped working. I don't think it's the ACC unit because it I can switch it to min and max and while driving down the highway air will come through a little. Also the flaps will still close and open according the ACC setting. I have checked fused and I'm looking for more info on how to take the blower out. I was told it could be the brushes.
