What year? I was cruising at 100 in my friends 1998 the other day, its a fast cruise no efffort on the cars part.

Mine is a '96. The '98 is a turbo, right? That would help a lot. Mine cruises fine, but it takes its time getting to speed.

Anyway, I'm not very comfortable going over 85 on the highway. There's a speedway too close to my house, and I'm itching for a very fast car to take there. When did M-B start making 12 cylinder engines?

Yeah the 98 is a turbo, soon to be chipped and it moves.

MB came out with their first V12 in 1992.

85 in say an S600 is a slow just off idle cruising speed.

Notice the super lame kill joy at 135. A rusted out 5.0 Mustang can pass you in a proper race.:wtf:

I can't see the limiter kicking in there, as the clip ends. But is the '92 also limited? If so, that's a severe bummer. Is there a way to defeat it without a complete rebuilding of the EFI system (megasquirt or such)?

1992 is the only year with no limiter.

To get the limiter removed you need to enlist the services of Brabus, Renntech, Kleeman, etc. They work their magic and fix it.

I ended up buying a '97 E420 off Ebay. I just couldn't pass up the great deal I got . I bid for W210 wagons but they cost 2K+ more for some strange reason and I wouldn't chase them. I love the power of the 8 cyl. I also got a 2 year Penn Warranty for $800 so I won't be psiised if anything fails.
