R129-cut wire, where is it for?

I removed my front courtesy light and noticed that the previous owner has cut a (red) wire in this unit...

The wire I am talking about is connected to the round sensor(?) at the top right side between the switch and (heater) temperature sensor. Does anyone know what function this round sensor(?) has? Personally I think it has something to do with the factory mounted alarm system, but I am not sure...
