Need help - on/off ratio error 1.03V +- 0.03

Hi guys,

I really need your help on this one. As I posted earlier my car ('88 190E 2.6) failed emission test so I tried the seafoam treatment. I used the vacuum line from the thermovac to the throttle body. I'm not sure if this happened before or after, but now I'm reading an error on X11.

Is 1.03V read as 10% or 90% with a battery voltage of 13.8V? I think it's 90% but there's no equivalent error on the manual.

Thanks in advance.

Hello again,

I found an X92 socket on my car but it only has pins 1, 6 and 7 with metal inside the holes. I'm assuming it doesn't have the CIS-E reader. But will an error on this diagnostic socket keep me from reading X11?

Also, I need input on my above post.

Thanks

Reading the signal at the round connector requires a meter capable of reading a duty cycle. Ideal ratio is approx 50% on/off

Reading the signal at the EHA requires a ammeter. Ideal reading is +- .1-.2ma.

Thanks DOC,

I know I need a duty cycle reader. But what I'm trying to do right now is to check for any malfunction. I'm now getting a practically steady reading (1.03 +- 0.03) which I assume is a fault. Should I just interpret this as 100% since 90% fault is unassigned in the fault table?

The car finally figured out its own problem. I took out my old O2 sensor and was ready to replace the one on the 2.6. But before doing so I tested the voltage on the O2 sensor. Disconnected the black lead and inserted a test wire and with tester connected to ground got ~4.7V on cold start. I was surprised so I checked lambda and found a reading of 30%. So crossing my fingers, I drove around then checked lambda and got a healthy 36%. Adjusted A/F mix and now it's running around 47%.

So 3 things could have happened; sludge blocked the O2 sensor after the seafoam treatment. Poor connection at the O2 sensor. Or something else could have had a bad connection and got cured after wiggling the wires around.

FYI
