Euro projectors headlights, would it fit on US spec w124?

I am looking to upgrade my headlights, on my 1992 300ce, 121000miles. On ebay, its seems that all the headlights are european. They are very nice and I want the projector ones. But my question is will it fit on a U.S. w124.

I have attached a picture of the rear of the headlight that I want.
Can anyone tell me if it will work on a U.S. w124, and if so what I or a professional would have to do in order for it to fit.

Thanks for any input.

I just did it recently on my 1989 300CE, also a W124, with help of BENZ-LGB. You can follow the steps here:

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?p=1515819#post1515819

be patient and scroll down some posts after that one, pay attention to BENZ's instructions and pictures.

Thank you so much for that link, it will help so much. You just saved me a couple of hours. but I am still confused on this 4 pin and 6 pin connectors. In the picture of the new euro headlights it uses 4 pin connectors, I think. I am a newbie at this but, I will have my uncle help, he is a mechanic and a very good one at MB. I am just puzzeled at how the old connector goes into the new one, or if the old one needs to be modified.

I havent bought the headlights just yet, I wanted to make sure it was possible before I spend $250.

The wiring diagram and instruction how to replace the 4-pin with the 6-pin connectors are also further down in that thread. I am copying an excerpt from there but please take time to read the whole issue in the original thread.

Perhaps you need a pair of 6-pin connectors, try here

Here is the wiring diagram for the Euro lights. Please note that this diagram is numbered as you are looking at the plug from the bottom (looking at the female ends). In my picture you are looking at the plug from the top

The new (blue) wire in my earlier picture (position #3 in the diagram) goes to the plug that is connected to the turn indicator assembly. You splice it to the grey/red wire there (there are only three wires going to the turn indicator assembly). That is step #2 in the diagram (what they refer to as the jumper wire). If you follow these steps all the lights should work and you shoul dnot get a "light out" warning.

I have read the article twice, thanks again for that, and another thanks to the diagram. You have answered all my questions and some.

I greatly appreciate your help.

I think the general consensus is to avoid cheap, plastic-lens knock-offs. They are not approved by the Department of Transportation, but, more importantly, the light patterns and quality are insufficient. Look for the European glass-lens headlamps (as illustrated on the Signal Red 1989 300CE in the coupe forum--see above).

The great part of the credits goes to BENZ-LGB for installing and Arthur Dalton for adjusting the lights.

Well thanks for the heads up on how cheap these headlights are. Thanks a million, I am just going to go to my local MB parts provider and have him order some original clear glass headlights(if they exsist), or just the euro bosh headlights.

Thanks again

Well I just bought these european headlights from importvision

They take H4/H3 bulbs, my question is what is the correct wattage. I have done my homework but I came to a dead end when multiple people say two different things. Some say these headlights were meant to take 55/60watt others say they take 70/65 watt. Also the issue of 5000k or 8000k. I am a newbie to this so what is recomended. I want the best bulb I can possible put in without doing any damage to the headlight.

CAUTION When buying Euro Headlight from Germany - Some sellers are not disclosing the headlights are set up for RHD e.g. driving on the other side of road. The asimuths cannot be adjusted that far back to the right for US LHD vehicles.

In continental Europe they drive on the same side as in the US. The only exception is on the british Islands. So unless you get the headlights designated for UK, no worries!

Good choice, those are Depos headlights they sell. The quality is not bad and the lenses are glass. Get the 55/60 watt +50 bulbs from http://www.danielsternlighting.com.

I have the same lights. They are 4 pin, therefore they will fit a US W124 without any modifications of the sockets. Just take out the old lights and put in the new lights as simple as that. Note, the new lights are one piece whereas the stock ones were 2 pieces (the corners are attached to the headlight in the new ones).

There is one thing though. There is a city light like in the Euros, and they have 2 wires on the back, but I'm not sure how these are supposed to be hooked up using the stock 4 pin sockets.

I havent installed mine yet, as one of them got damaged during shipping.

Let me how yours have worked out if you bought them yet.
