'95 W124, how much condensate from your A/C?
Just curious how much drip you get from your 124. My '95 E300 diesel cools really well, but does not seem to drip very much compared to other cars I see (and own). Also does not leave a puddle after being parked, other than a couple drops.
Do I remember right that a big puddle after parking any car with A/C is a sign of melted ice, which is not a good sign? I don't seem to have any interior drips, and I don't hear sloshing from some plugged area, but it just seems like it should be condensing more. Rgds, Chris W. '95 E300D, 235K |

The underside of most, if not all 124's has a large undercladding - partly to help with sound, and partly to help with cooling, aerodynamics and a few other things, I'm sure. Likely the condensate is just building up somewhere on top of the cladding, and while you drive, is finely distributed back into the atmosphere. Perhaps the time that you did see a large puddle, is when the car it self was leaning at just the right angle to let the condensate collect and run out in just one spot.
That, or you live in Arizona, and don't have a lot of humidity - in which case I envy you.

Larry, as far as I know the condensate drain doesn't discharge into the engine belly pan. There must be some other explanation that Chris doesn't see a puddle of condensate under his E300. Perhaps the drain is partially blocked.

Ck the drains with a coat-hanger..one on each side of the transmission , at the tunnel.

Agreed. I get a pretty good-sized puddle under mine, despite the underside cladding...

I initially had both sloshing and no puddles. I found and cleared both tubes (I know I cleared a clog from one of the tubes, not as certain on the other) and afterwards had two fairly steady condensation drip - but I live in a very humid area.
Occasionally I still have sloshing, but I know it's not due to it not draining.

drain
My 95 e300d has a little drain hole/spout on the plastic sound encapsulation cover. I think this is where my ac water drains. At least that's where it used to leak diesel.
