I will post photos of the "Cheapie Cup Holder" suggested by another post as soon as I can figure out how to do it.

They have a few listings that are similar. I put the single cup type that they have listed fro $37.00 in my 300e, but I got mine at a marine supply store for about $8 bucks.

No problem with wiring when mounting them as I cut the supplied screws so that they only penetrated enough to hold. Later when I had the door panel off I noted that there were no wires behind it anyway.

$37 for a piece of plastic is pretty much overpriced from this part seller while the same can be had somewhere else for less than $10.
Considering this is a mass product and not specific to a car model or even car make, people selling at this price ($37 and up) must think Mercedes drivers are rich and/but dumb.

I have used the flip-up type in a prior W126, put one one each door (4 total) and dyed them with SEM to match. They worked great and looked factory original. Don't worry - there are no wires or vacuum lines, etc. that can be damaged. And the screws don't go deep enough to interfere with the window track or regulator.

Apparently those cup holders are covered in about $33.00 of MB-Tex. Like I said, I got two plastic ones at a boat store for about $10.

SEM is a dye/paint for leather, vinyl, and plastic. Call English Color - they can get you SEM. Ask for the custom-mixed water based stuff, not the stuff in spray cans. You can leave a headrest with them for an hour and come back - they will color match it.

I have the flip up cup holders in my 1995 E300D. I purchased the car a few months ago and assumed that they were original because they match my palomino interior. Are they not original? If not, it makes me feel better. The drivers side holder broke off the day I purchased the car and have felt guilty that I broke an original part the first day it was in my care.
