Half Shaft spindles

More specifically, I'm replacing the lower bushing in the Hub Carrier. I just need to get the spindles out of the Hub Assy's so that I can take them and have the bushings R/R'd.
I suppose that they can be tapped out if one uses extreme caution. Just wondered what others have done
