Hmmm,

Brought a W126 300 SE (3.0L) the other week and thought I'd go and get the air-con recharged.

Chap wasn't sure whether or not it was R12 gas, but then found a problem. There are 2 hoses which look like they should be attached to something but they are not. Do I have a missing part(s)? I've put a photo below.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Receiver/dryer....... but i gaurantee you, positutely, absoltively, that the system needs more than a "recharge". I'd start reading archive posts on A/C.

Thanks, look like there's a few ports for other things too, so will try and find a diagram and see what else is missing.

Looks to keep me busy for the next few weeks!!!!

You need to be aware that with that part missing and the system open for who knows how long, you may be looking at more serious problems than simply replacing the drier.

I also wonder why the drier was removed.
