Transmission problem 722.699

W210 E 220 T CDI 2000 modell

Simens EGS module
5 speed ATM 722.699 gear box

Stored fault:

F110
F146
147 Gang not plausible or Gear box rutsch

Cleared OK

But what does it mean?

Transmission is not OK, even if codes cleared OK

Car switching to neutral during driving (5 times)
Locked up in one gear (3th?) (one time)
Going in to emergency program, max 3000 RPM (once)

After one of this conditions, tip schift was not working.
When it switch to neutral during driving, I can just shift to neutral and back to drive.
(Maby tip shift not working)
If speed are redused to 30-40 Km, the it would come back to drive.

After re cycling ignition, evry thing is OK.

Just had the car for a week

110 - RPM comparison n2 to n3 implausible
146 - speed sensor n3 overspeed OR impermissible transmission ratio
147 - Gear is not plausible or transmission slips

Thank you mayarmar!

Did some more test today with live scanning.

I can clear the codes.

It seams to work OK when the engine are cold.

When it lock up in 3th gear
I get code 051 and 147

When warm it slips a little bit when shifting from 3th to 4th
And somethimes switch to neutral during the shift from 3th to 4th, after the slip.
(It always switch to neutral when shifting up ore down to 3th gear)
Then I get code 050 and 146

The conductor plate was changed at the dealer 1 year ago.
And the car have been driven only 8000 km since the change.

Code 110 was not set today.

Any sugestion what the problem can be?

146 is a temporary code, 50 is permanent, same description.
51 and 147 - same.
I'd start with checking ATF level and also would check for metals in the pan. Check for oil leak inside the black round electrical connector and cable on the front pass. side. Sometimes oil makes its way to the EGS damaging electronics.
If you scanner is capable of showing live data check RPMs from two sensors and adaptation values. If you scanner can't do that get the readings from the MB shop.

I'm not able to read the sensors.

The plan is to change oil and filter, and do the flushing.

So I was wondering if this is a typical fault, and maybe change some part at the same time as the oil change. Since the oil is so expensive.

I will also check for oil leaks in the connector.

Im not able to get 80 deg C on the gear box, I get 50-60 deg C and the oil level is not on max. Its just over halfe way, between min and max.

If this codes are related to the RPM sensors, I will get a new conductor board on warranty. But the MB star people dont understand my codes...;-)
Even if they are described in WIS.

So I will have it scanned with a MB scanner.
Dont know if they will change it on warranty, its a part warranty.

EGS live data

Oil level was low added 2 dl (0,2 ltr) No change.

Is this the RPM sensors in the ATM? Se picture!

1. pic in reverse

2. pic in drive, brakes on

RPM wheel 3 are displaying different values with brake on.
1 without brake and 9 with brake activated.

This look strange for me...;-) El fault, conductor plate???
Ore some kind of interference/earth fault.
RPM should not increase with brake switch activated...

Thanks!

I have probably a soft- ore harware problem with my scanner for live data on the EGS module.

No sign of oil leak at the EGS module, would check the connector at the gear box soon.

Would have it scanned with star 2000 today for the warranty of the conductor plate (el kit) at a MB dealer.

But dont think this is the whole problem.
Stored codes now
110
146
147

Might be the valve body, (valve gear) 1500 $ + at a independed garage.

But if that is not the fix it will be the doubble price ++

Any sugestion wanted

A "new" valve body solved the problem.
