Next best guess: (though those are good ones to check!)

- Check the brake shield, or whatever you call the sheet metal "cover" inboard of the calipers. Mine was doing that. Last weekend I crawled under to have a looksee, and that was the only type material that sorta matched the type of noise, so I bent it inward a bit. Voila! No more noise!

FWIW, the PO put wider tires on this car. I'm guessing that might have been a factor.
