The loudest thing you could do would be to disconnect the pipe from the exhaust manifold.

Good luck.

I sure wish that sometimes they'd stop for stupid.

As far as loud goes, cut off the pipe after the catalytic converter. If that's not loud enough, then cutting off the converter may get you in trouble with the emissions police, and Al Gore will fly over your house and bore you to death with his monotone voice.

Poor car.

Oh yes they do.

Some idiots in one of those "Box" ('77-'90) Chevy Caprices pulled up to an East Oakland stoplight, right next some Oakland California police car, and their "music" was so loud it rattled the hell out of the dashboard of the Police car.

They arrested them.

And after the exhaust pipe is free from the manifold, put a microphone at the manifold outlet, plug it into a boombox, crank it to full volume, and enjoy poluting the serenity of everyone within 100 meters of you.

I lived in Illinois, They have emissions laws. You can put a higher flow cat on with open pipe to the rear.

It's a shame you don't understand the metric system - the one used in every country of the world except the USA. You may then want to consider trading in your MBZ for a Ford or Chevy; They still use SAE Standard.

Not really. It's actually a strange phenomonon. US cars are now nearly 100% metric. Everything we buy in the US is typically imported from China and uses metric hardware yet getting metric hardware is still relatively difficult. And metric pluming is impossible.
