A clean engine bay of a 12-year old car

The credit goes to my PO. I just keep it up.

I do not use wax, but degreaser and then glas cleaner.

Almost all visible and accessible engine parts can be touched without letting the hands get dirty.

Even the hood inside is clean.

So I cannot complain

Did he do his own work?

I keep the engines of my cars that clean for the simple reason that I work on them, and don't want to work on a greasy filthy mess.

I got the same thing from my PO on the SL AMG. He owned the car from 1983 to 1997, it was always in a garage, and he never drove it in the rain. During all that time, he never cleaned the engine bay, and neither have I. Thank God for some previous owners!

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I'll have it checked and exchanged if needed.

LOL!

Isn't that the way we all are sometimes? Can't see the forest for the trees?

But MAN! Those are some clean engine bays!

I have had the car since 4 weeks, and had coolant and ATF flushed, filtered the wiper water as well but did not know that the brake fluid needs changing too.

That's great. I try to keep mine clean, too, so I can tell if anything's leaking. Plus, I just like it to be clean everywhere. That is impressive.

so clean

I need to pull my 617 and have it resealed and clean everything in the engine compartment, then buff and wax it ^_^. Plus all of the linkages and lines need to be re-plated.. none of that "copy cad" crap.. I want the stuff that can kill a grown whale

I'm getting a 602 valve cover tomorrow to experiment the polishing procedures.
