1984 500 sel to "completely rebuild front end/suspension"

$4685.00

When I supplied the parts to the dealer last year it cost me $750 in labor for:

Rear springs, spring pads, shocks to be replaced.

And a front end alignment.

Took them 1 day.

They charge $95 an hour.

Seeing how you can buy a car like that for $2500-$3000. I wouldn't do that!

True, but with a mint suspension? It all depends on what you want/expect from the car. In my case, I have spent 3x what I paid for the car bringing things back up to par..... But its worth it, because its extremely reliable, and now that I've fixed most everything, it hasn't needed much work in a long while....and will probably continue to be that way.

Either way, I've driven 62k over 4.5 years in a S-class MB with all its luxuries and safety, for about the price of a Kia Rio. And will continue to do so.

Not to mention, insurance and registration on this car is likely a lot less than it'd be for a new POS car!
