Need some help on the seat switch for 1997 E300D. On the drivers side only one of the memory sets works and on the passanger side the seat back switch will only move the seat back forward regardless of whether I push it forward or back.

First of all does this sound like a bad switch in both cases or could it be something else. Secoundly, I could use some help in removing this switch. I know it is a combined unit with all the functions (seat position, headrest, steering wheel, memory) all in one. Do I need to remove the door panel to get the switch out or is there another way.
