85 380SE replacing 4 bent valves
I believe I have 4 bent valves in the drivers side head.
I am pulling the head to check. I have a couple of questions. Heres where Im at: I have pulled the exhaust manifold, unbolted the intake from head, pulled the 4 pins for upper guide rails, removed all the head bolts I think. Do I have to unbolt the cam bolts? and if I am rolling in a new chain do I still need to mark the chain/sproket relationship? before taking off sprocket. I Think it is off as the chain jumped. also do I need to remove the intake or just unbolt it from the head Im removing? Here is my partslist maybe you guys can tell me if im missing anything timing chain 3 guide rails and pins chain tensioner rail 4 valves seats and guides head gasket kit oil tube and plastic parts for tube With all of you guy's help I think Im off to a pretty good start so THANK YOU so much. |

Pull the intake. One of each cam stand bolts is a head bolt. Don't worry about cam timing till you are putting it back together. Remove all the rockers and you can do the timing with no risk. Once right put the rockers back on.
