Fuel Delvery Problem, (I think)

Hello to all:
I have an '86 560 SL that up until this evening ran perfectly. We were on our way to churh and she just stopped dead. Engine cut off. I pulled over an tried to crank her up but nothing. Tried the usual, pumping gas pedal, etc... Still nothing. After about 10 minutes it started up and we drove her home. I shut the car off, then tried to re-start and it wouldn't start. Sat a while, still wouldn't start. I sprayed some staring fluid in the breather and as long as I had a continuaous spray, when my wife turned on the ignition, she would run. Stop spraying the fluid and it cut off. Well, we went in for about 15 minutes, came out and tried to start it. Voila, it started (no strating fluid this time). It ran 'til I shut it off. After turning it off, once again, when I tried to re-start about a minute later, it wouldn't start. I'm thinking Fuel Realy Module. Any guesses? Can you point me to a thread where someone's already experienced this type of problem?
Thanks
