Reverse Shift Hard
I searched the forum for this without success. 1988, 420 SEL, with a 722.3 transmission. Here's the question. The transmission shifts smoothly except for this: If the car is stopped in a down hill position and I put it in reverse I get a hard shift. . . a real jerk. If I'm on level ground and shift to reverse it shifts smoothly. It appears that I'm getting a delayed shift and when I'm in a down hill position I, of course, have to apply more gas and then reverse engages under accelation causing the jerk. What might be the cause and how can it be corrected, or am I just a lousy driver. Jerry
