1990 Mercedes 190e 2.6L Will Not Start
Hello,
My car started running extremely rich in fuel mixture and then finally quit and will not start. Fuel pressure "dead head" checks @120psi at cranking, then when allowing fuel to flow to fuel distributor regulates @80 psi when cranking and drops to 40 psi when not cranking. Spark is excellent at all plugs but all plugs are soaking wet. How do I get this engine to "lean" mixture? Best Regards, Ray Beerhorst |

I think your lamda needs to be adjusted and componets of the cise and inputs to the cise system need to be checked.

Oracle 12345 can you suggest some csie input checkpoints and values as your assessment makes a lot of sense? I also could use some help in setting the lambda adjustment properly.

Quote:
The computer is being told to read rich mixture because you want a rich mixture when the engine is cold and as the motor warms up it becomes more lean. In your situation parts of the fuel injection system are telling the computer to stay in rich mode constantly. If you have the 201 service disc there are bunch tests you can do isolate the problem. a place to start is check your temperature sensor and try to pull any fault codes
